Does BOTOX® Cosmetic Work for a Brow Lift? Answers to Your FAQs

What Is a BOTOX® Cosmetic Brow Lift?

Many people want lifted brows for a more youthful and refreshed appearance—but without surgery. To accomplish this, we often use BOTOX® injections for our patients from Fort Walton Beach, Valparaiso, and other nearby areas to help smooth skin in the forehead and brow region for natural-looking facial rejuvenation.

What is the BOTOX brow lift technique?

In a BOTOX brow lift, we use BOTOX to nonsurgically elevate the eyebrows. We carefully place the injections in the muscles that depress the eyebrows, temporarily relaxing them and allowing the eyebrows to raise 1 to 2mm. The results last about 3 to 4 months. Often patients opt to combine their BOTOX treatment with dermal fillers for more comprehensive rejuvenation. Learn more details about BOTOX injections from The Aesthetic Society.

What are the benefits of a brow lift with BOTOX?

The BOTOX brow lift is a good option for patients who want cosmetic improvement but do not want surgery. The treatment is minimally invasive—it requires no anesthesia, incisions, or sutures. On top of that, appointments are quick; patients are in and out in about 30 minutes. Some of our patients even schedule their appointments during their lunch breaks and then immediately return to work. There is no downtime associated with BOTOX, so you can be back to your normal daily activities on the same day as your treatment.

How do nonsurgical and surgical brow lifts compare?

With any nonsurgical treatment, there are some limitations. The nonsurgical brow lift approach is more suitable for individuals who have only mild signs of aging, such as minor lines or folds along the forehead and between the eyebrows. Additionally, results are not permanent, so follow-up treatments every few months are necessary. You can learn more about how we use BOTOX for forehead and other wrinkles in our related blog post.

A surgical brow lift, on the other hand, corrects more significant brow drooping and addresses moderate to severe wrinkles and creases. I use an endoscopic approach to minimize scarring. Instead of the long incision that is required with the traditional approach, I make a small 1-5.5cm incision and avoid removal of the scalp or hair. I also make one incision in each temple and 2 at the top of the scalp behind the hairline. Using a tiny camera, I elevate the brows and forehead.

Ultimately, both brow lift options can provide excellent results for the right patients. During your consultation, we can discuss your options and create a plan of action that will help you reach your cosmetic goals.

What should I look for in a BOTOX injector?

Though BOTOX is a quick and seemingly harmless treatment, it is important to find a qualified and skilled injector. An inexperienced injector can not only leave you with undesirable results but also put you at risk for complications. Both Bill Edelman, our experienced physician assistant, and I have administered BOTOX for years. Bill is one of the area’s foremost clinicians performing BOTOX injections and has even earned the name “BOTOX Bill.” He has performed more than 15,000 treatments, making him a premier choice for your nonsurgical brow lift.

What is the cost of a laparoscopic brow lift? I consistently have what appears to be brow drooping after Botox in the forehead. Are the results as good with laparoscopic brow lifts as with traditional face lift in the forehead region?
